Elizabeth Mossop and Jeffrey Carney: In the Mississippi Delta: Building with Water

Historically Tennessee, Caffin, and Tupelo Streets extended into the wetlands to the north. Our proposal concentrates redevelopment on these three corridors while encouraging only a limited footprint in flood-prone areas. Housing and commercial space along these streets are elevated to withstand flooding with minimal damage. The ground floors accommodate parking, storage and studios, as well as ample space for social gathering.
