Architizer: New Aging

Alzheimers Respite Centre
Dublin's Alzheimer's Respite Centre, built in 2009, by Niall McLoughlin Architects, stresses the familiar, with a master plan that transposes a modern building scale over the foundations of an 18th-century walled garden. Granite and brick frame carefully manicured garden spaces oriented towards the sun; its changing position throughout the day reflects fluctuations in the residents' daily journey.
