Partner News: University of Manitoba

Atmos Symposium on Ecology and Design





The Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Canada, will host the 5th annual Atmosphere (Atmos) Symposium on February 7 – 9, 2013. This year’s focus is Ecology and Design.

The symposium will present critical work from scholars, educators, practitioners and students on the following topics:
  • ecology in design pedagogy
  • ecology in design practice
  • history/theory of design and ecology
  • (new) technology/material in design and ecology
  • speculative design projects theorizing ecology
  • project reflections in ecological context
Keynote speakers include Jennifer Siegal, David Gersten, Maria Aiolova, Mark DeKay, Matt Kondolf and Kai-Uwe Bergmann.
