Atmos Symposium on Ecology and Design

The Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Canada, will host the 5th annual
Atmosphere (Atmos) Symposium on February 7 – 9, 2013. This year’s focus is Ecology and Design.
The symposium will present critical work from scholars, educators, practitioners and students on the following topics:
- ecology in design pedagogy
- ecology in design practice
- history/theory of design and ecology
- (new) technology/material in design and ecology
- speculative design projects theorizing ecology
- project reflections in ecological context
Keynote speakers include Jennifer Siegal, David Gersten, Maria Aiolova, Mark DeKay, Matt Kondolf and Kai-Uwe Bergmann.
