From August 15 to November 15, 2011, we were pleased to present Anthony Doerr’s story “Village 113,” originally published in Tin House and collected in Memory Wall, released in paperback by Scribner in July. Our agreement with the publisher covered only this limited period, and so the text is no longer available on Places.
Fans of Anthony Doerr are encouraged to visit his website, and to check out the other stories in our special feature on place in fiction, including an essay by novelist Richard Powers, “What Does Fiction Know?”, and stories by Urban Waite, Emily Mitchell, Ashleigh Pedersen, Barry Lopez, Ryan Harty and Danielle Dutton.
